One STEP At A Time
N-STEP HTML E-mail
Results—Increased Web Site Traffic
The U.S.> Army's National Automotive Center developed
a software approach based on STEP protocols, called N-STEP (National
Automotive Center STandard Exchange of
Product Data).
This initiative produced CNC part making programs from old CAD drawings
and blueprints, by converting the original part data into the N-STEP package.
To test whether this process could be commercialized, a seminar was developed
and manufacturers were invited to attend. The primary vehicle was HTML E-Mail.
The chart shows spikes in web site activity as the E-Mails were sent out.
