What's In A Name?
NavCat®
Name, Logo, Web Site, CD, Brochures, HTML E-Mails, Flash, Ads
When you come up with a new product,
and need a name, look to the people who have done it for themselves.
A client needed to introduce its new tooling catalog at
EMO, a major European trade show. However, because of Holiday in Europe,
not all the approvals were made in time to print the book.
Shifting into the "Save Our Butts" gear, we came up with a clickable
PDF version, which the client thought was "slicker than snot."
Not wanting our efforts to be a one-time shot, we expanded
the concept and added capabilities, like video, and the ability to integrate
all sales tools, not just one catalog.
What to call it? We went back to its roots: Navigatable
Catalog. NavCat, for short. It's a name people feel is
familiar, even though it is new. The rest is history.
